The service includes real-time tracking and a digital baggage receipt for each passenger. Dertour Reports „Record-Level Bookings“ 

According to Mark Tantz, Managing Director for Germany at Dertour Group, the tour operators are currently seeing a 21% increase in bookings for the summer season of 2025. For the winter season, customer numbers are even 39% higher compared to the previous year. In response to this surge in demand, the company is expanding its offerings. 

We-Flytour Cancels All Booked Trips 

The insolvent tour operator We-Flytour has now canceled trips with departures after January 1st. Customers and travel agencies have already been informed of the decision, according to the preliminary insolvency administrator, Heike Metzger. 

TUI Sees Significant Improvement in Corporate Results 

TUI reported a strong performance for the past fiscal year, with 20.3 million guests (+7%) and a revenue of 23.2 billion euros (+12%). The company achieved an adjusted operating profit of 1.3 billion euros (+33%). The overall corporate result improved by 66%, reaching 507 million euros. 

Trendtours Expands with Small Groups for Greater Growth 

Trendtours, a specialist in group travel, is continuing its expansion and focusing more on the travel agency market. The company is now introducing small group tours with a maximum of six participants. Check24 Launches Cruise Sales 

The announced entry of the comparison portal Check24 into the cruise sales market has officially begun. Nearly all major shipping lines are on board, covering both ocean and river cruises. 

OTA Oojo Expands to Germany 

The Trevolution Group, which operates brands such as Asaptickets, Skyluxtravel, Dreamport, Vagamo, and Oojo, is now launching its online flight platform Oojo in Germany. High Cancellation Rates for German Airlines and Airports 

The 2024 flight year exposed significant weaknesses in European air travel, with Germany identified as a key problem area. A survey conducted by Alix-Partners shows that Germans plan to spend more on travel in 2025 despite rising prices in the sector. To afford these trips, many are scaling back on non-essential expenditures such as dining out (54%) and entertainment (37%). The survey reflects strong demand, with 25% of respondents intending to increase their travel budgets. 

Swiss Ski Holidays See Rising Costs 

The cost of a week-long ski vacation in Switzerland during early March 2025 will rise by 6% compared to the previous year. While families may find rates reduced by 4%, couples face an average increase of 13%.

Sleeping has become the new „inactive activity.“ According to a global survey by Hilton involving 13,000 travelers, one in four individuals aged 18 to 34 want to do nothing more on their vacation than „Hurkle-Durkling“ – or simply „lying in bed or lounging around.“ While the idea of going on vacation to do nothing might seem puzzling, it seems that for many, a fulfilling holiday only requires a bed, a pool, spa, wellness facilities, good food, high-speed Wi-Fi, and 24-hour room service. 

Travel Agencies Surpass Influencers in Travel Inspiration 

According to a recent YouGov survey, the most important sources of travel inspiration for German travelers are personal recommendations from friends and family (33%), followed by travel agencies (21%) and traditional media such as travel magazines (17%). Social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube play a smaller role, with only 8% citing them as a key influence. Half of the respondents believe that influencers often showcase unrealistic and expensive trips and lack cost transparency. 

DRV Forecasts Optimistic Outlook for 2025 Travel Industry 

According to the latest market forecast by the German Travel Association (DRV), developed with the consultancy Dr. Fried & Partner and Travel Data + Analytics, Germany’s travel industry anticipates a 6% revenue growth in 2025. Expenditures on pre-booked travel services are expected to reach €85 billion, with package and modular tours contributing about half of this total. Despite economic challenges, early booking trends indicate strong travel demand. 

Winter 2024/25: Sun Destinations Drive Growth 

For the winter season, expenditures are forecasted to grow by 6% to €27 billion, even as traveler numbers dip slightly to 45 million. Popular destinations include the Canary Islands, Turkey, and Egypt, with strong interest in air travel, long-haul trips, and cruises.

Deutsche planen mehr Reisen im Jahr 2025

Sie schätzen die höhere Produktivität, Nachhaltigkeit und Kosteneffizienz. Unternehmen unterstützen den Wechsel, da Zugreisen oft günstiger sind als Flüge oder Hotelübernachtungen. Konsumzurückhaltung trotz verbesserter Finanzlage, fvw  

Trotz verbesserter finanzieller Aussichten halten sich die Verbraucher in Deutschland weiterhin zurück. Laut der Simon-Kucher Travel Trends Studie planen 70% der Befragten, ihre Ausgaben einzuschränken, insbesondere in der Gastronomie und bei Reisen, und geben als Hauptgrund die hohen Preise an. Interessanterweise sind 67% der Befragten der Meinung, dass ihre finanzielle Situation „mindestens gut“ ist, was einen leichten Anstieg des Optimismus widerspiegelt, insbesondere bei jüngeren Menschen im Alter von 18 bis 29 Jahren, wo die positive Einschätzung seit Januar um 13 Prozentpunkte gestiegen ist.

Gen Z: Wie deutsche Reisende den Markt neu definieren 

Die deutschen Reisenden der Generation Z, die zwischen Mitte der 90er und Anfang der 2010er Jahre geboren wurden, prägen die Reisetrends mit ihrem Fokus auf Flexibilität, digitales Engagement und Nachhaltigkeit. Sie sind dafür bekannt, dass sie mehrere Kurzreisen pro Jahr unternehmen. Sie bevorzugen erschwingliche europäische Reiseziele wie Spanien, Italien und Griechenland, fühlen sich aber auch zu umweltfreundlichen Optionen in Skandinavien hingezogen. Die Reisedauer der Generation Z ist mit durchschnittlich 6,5 Tagen die kürzeste unter den Generationen, und viele entscheiden sich für Mitfahrgelegenheiten und Billigfluglinien wie Ryanair und EasyJet. Der digitale Einfluss ist groß: 53% nutzen soziale Medien für Reiseideen, während TikTok 29% ihrer Reiseentscheidungen inspiriert.

Die Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus (DZT) hat ihr erstes KI-Influencer-Projekt gestartet und stellt „Emma“ vor, eine vollständig KI-generierte Botschafterin, die für Reisen nach Deutschland werben soll. Emma möchte potenzielle Reisende inspirieren, indem sie auf ihrem Instagram-Kanal @EmmaTravelsGermany 24 Stunden am Tag, 7 Tage die Woche mit ihnen interagiert und ihnen personalisierte Reiseerfahrungen bietet. Dank fortschrittlicher Technologie kann Emma in über 20 Sprachen kommunizieren und wird bald auf Echtzeitdaten zugreifen, um maßgeschneiderte Reiserouten zu erstellen.  

Schweizer Gäste bevorzugen Unterkunft im Urlaub 

Eine aktuelle Studie von Schweiz Tourismus in Zusammenarbeit mit HotellerieSuisse zeigt, dass Gäste in der Schweiz mehr als die Hälfte ihrer Urlaubszeit mit ihrer Unterkunft verbringen. Die Studie unterstreicht, dass die Unterkunft eine wichtige Rolle für das Reiseerlebnis spielt. 75 % der Touristen geben an, dass die Qualität ihrer Unterkunft entscheidend für den Gesamterfolg ihrer Reise ist. Dieses Ergebnis unterstreicht die Bedeutung der Hotels für die Zufriedenheit der Gäste und die Gestaltung positiver Reiseerlebnisse in der Schweiz.

Wachsende Popularität von Solo-Reisen und Essen in Deutschland 

Eine aktuelle Studie von Kayak und OpenTable zeigt, dass die Zahl der Solo-Reisen und der Solo-Restaurants in Deutschland deutlich gestiegen ist. Alleinreisen haben in den letzten fünf Jahren um 10 % zugenommen, und alleiniges Essengehen hat allein im letzten Jahr um 18 % zugenommen. Mehr als 80% der Deutschen sind schon einmal allein verreist, 62% davon sogar mehrmals im Jahr.

Bahnreisen ersetzen Geschäftsflüge bei Geschäftsreisen

Dertour, die Reisesparte der REWE Group, wird laut CEO Lionel Souque in diesem Jahr ein Rekordergebnis erzielen. Er zeigte sich auch offen für weitere Übernahmen, darunter die Hotelplan-Gruppe. Der Umsatz des Unternehmens ist um mehr als 20% gestiegen, was zum Teil auf die FTI-Insolvenz zurückzuführen ist, die einen beträchtlichen Zustrom von Neukunden nach sich gezogen hat.

Dertour: Asien liegt im Trend für Fernreisen
Dertour hat sein Asienprogramm für den kommenden Winter erweitert, indem es Reisen nach Hongkong hinzufügt und sein Japan-Angebot verbessert hat. Japan hat sich für Dertour zu einem Trendziel entwickelt, auch dank der bevorstehenden Expo in Osaka. Das Programm enthält außerdem zwei neue Länderkombinationen: die 13-tägige Tour ‚Entdecken Sie Taiwan und Japan‘ und ‚Entdecken Sie Japan und Südkorea.

Derzeit stammen mehr als 75 % des Konzernumsatzes aus dem Ausland, und Spohr erwartet, dass das künftige Wachstum vor allem aus dem Ausland kommen wird. Außerdem will er die Drehkreuze in Frankfurt und München ausbauen und sich auf Premium-Dienste konzentrieren, um Lufthansa bis 2026 wieder als führende Marke zu etablieren.

Moxy will auf über 100 Hotels in Europa expandieren

Die 2014 in Mailand gestartete junge Marke Moxy von Marriott feiert ihr 10-jähriges Bestehen und plant, ihr europäisches Portfolio bis Ende 2025 auf über 100 Hotels zu erweitern. Die Expansion umfasst 17 Neueröffnungen, wobei Deutschland und die Schweiz zu den wichtigsten Märkten gehören. Deutschland ist mit 31 Moxy-Hotels führend in Europa und stellt 25 % aller Marriott-Häuser in diesem Land.

IHG bleibt auf starkem Wachstumskurs
IHG hat angekündigt, dass seine Luxus-Boutique-Marke Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants sowie die neue Mittelklasse-Marke Garner in diesem Jahr ihre ersten Hotels in Deutschland eröffnen werden. Außerdem wird die auf Langzeitaufenthalte ausgerichtete Marke Candlewood Suites Anfang nächsten Jahres ihr Deutschland-Debüt geben.

  • Rund ein Drittel der Befragten legt besonderen Wert auf die Sicherheit.

Schweizer Marktforschung 2024

Mit einer Bevölkerung von derzeit rund 8,77 Millionen Einwohnern ist es von entscheidender Bedeutung, die beträchtlichen finanziellen Ressourcen der Schweiz zu erkennen, die sie im Vergleich zu anderen europäischen Märkten wie Frankreich und Deutschland zu einem wichtigen Konkurrenten für Fernreisen machen. Eine kürzlich vom Swiss Travel Collective und der Allianz Versicherung durchgeführte Studie zeigt, dass die Ausgaben der Schweizer für Reisen seit 2022 mit einem bemerkenswerten Anstieg von 31% deutlich zugenommen haben. Im Gegensatz dazu verzeichnete Deutschland nur einen Anstieg von 17% und Frankreich einen bescheidenen Anstieg von nur 3%.

Nach Ansicht der Autoren der Swiss Bankers-Studie zu den Konsumgewohnheiten (2023) könnte ein Grund für die Zunahme der Interkontinentalreisen der Nachholeffekt nach der Coronavirus-Periode sein. Im Jahr 2022 unternahmen 88% der Wohnbevölkerung mindestens eine Reise mit einer oder mehreren Übernachtungen außerhalb ihres Wohnorts. Insgesamt gab es 21,1 Millionen solcher Reisen, was einem Anstieg von 29% gegenüber 2021 entspricht, aber fast genauso viel wie im Zeitraum kurz vor der Covid-19-Pandemie (2019: 21,9 Millionen).

Um das aktuelle Marktgeschehen effektiv zu nutzen, ist es wichtig, die neuesten Datenanalysen und Marketingerkenntnisse zu nutzen. Auf diese Weise können Werbeaktivitäten auf die Schweiz zugeschnitten werden, um das Interesse zu wecken und letztlich die Zahl der Schweizer Reisenden zu erhöhen, die die Schweiz jenseits der ausgetretenen Pfade besuchen.

Die Entwicklung des deutschen Reisemarktes

Der deutsche Reisemarkt boomt derzeit. Im Jahr 2023 machten 55 Millionen Deutsche fünf Tage oder mehr Urlaub. Das ist ein Anstieg gegenüber dem Vorjahr, liegt aber leicht unter dem Niveau von 2019. Die Ausgaben für Urlaubsreisen stiegen auf einen Rekordwert von 87 Milliarden Euro, wobei 78% der Gesamtsumme auf Auslandsreisen entfielen. Obwohl die Zahl der Reisen geringer ist, übertreffen die Ausgaben das Niveau von 2019 um 13 Milliarden Euro.

Die durchschnittliche Urlaubsdauer stieg auf 13,1 Tage, länger als in den Vorjahren. Die Reiseanalyse 2024 der FUR zeigt, dass die Deutschen trotz der wirtschaftlichen Herausforderungen optimistisch sind, was das Reisen angeht. 73% planen Reisen im Jahr 2024. Davon haben 41% ihr Reiseziel bereits ausgewählt und 32% sind noch in der Entscheidungsphase. Im Jahr 2023 war Spanien das beliebteste Reiseziel, gefolgt von Italien, der Türkei, Kroatien und Griechenland; Fernreisen erreichten ein Allzeithoch.


Mit Blick auf das Jahr 2024 bleiben die Deutschen optimistisch, was ihre Reisepläne angeht. 73% sind sich sicher, dass sie reisen werden, 41% haben sich bereits für ein Reiseziel entschieden und 32% sind noch unentschlossen. Dies stellt eine Verbesserung gegenüber dem Vorjahr dar und entspricht den Trends vor der Pandemie. Trotz möglicher finanzieller Einschränkungen setzen viele Menschen Prioritäten bei ihren Urlaubsausgaben, was auf einen positiven Ausblick für die Tourismusbranche im Jahr 2024 hindeutet.
